Due to the constant pulling out of dates. We are forced to set certain conditions
for pulling out of dates that have been given to you by Rent A Comic LlC. We do
our best to honor your dates as well as pay if a show is canceled. We try to pay
promptly and try to make each gig the best it can be. We send out promo and
print ads to our clients. When the comic who is advertised does not show up, the
client feels cheated and so do the patrons. All promo: ads, posters, postcards &
tickets cost money. This money is wasted when a comic cancels at the last minute
(2 weeks prior).
I understand that other gigs paying more come up. However it is important to
honor the date you already have. I have worked very hard to create a company
that pays well and puts on quality shows. I expect my accounts to be professional
and they expect me to be in return. When comics pull out last minute it makes us
all look bad. It also makes it hard to get more dates out of the clients. They will
second guess the acts dependability and in some cases not place ads in the
paper or other media. All this will cause low turnouts and canceled dates.
Most of you have seen RENT A COMIC LLC grow from a few rooms to possibly
one of the largest outside booking agencies in New England. This is all due to the
comedians as well as RAC working together. RAC has got some great venues
that demand the acts they advertise. Please understand that this is not meant to
be a negative memo. I just need to put a stop to the constant pulling out of
dates. This hurts us all in the long run.
Here is my policy:
If a comic cancels within 14 days of a gig with RAC they must pay RAC half of
what RAC was to pay them. If they do not pay RAC half, it will be docked from a
future date. I will do my best to work with the comics so this doesn't happen. I
want to be given the option weather or not to let you out of a gig. Most of the
time, as you all know I have no problem. However there are times that finding a
replacement is nearly impossible not to mention the advertising is wasted.
I will continue to grow and create new venues for us all to work. It is important that
we all work together: Comics, Bookers & Clients. You all want the best from the
RAC and we want the best from you too. Thank you all for working for and with
